Indications
Keppra (levetiracetam) is indicated for the treatment of partial epileptic seizures, either as monotherapy or as adjunctive therapy in adult and pediatric patients over 1 year of age. It is also used in the treatment of generalized tonic-clonic seizures in patients with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy. The mechanism of action of levetiracetam is not fully understood, but it has been shown to affect neurotransmitter release and modulate abnormal neuronal activity, contributing to its efficacy in reducing seizure frequency.
Composition
Each ml of Keppra solution contains 100 mg of levetiracetam as active ingredient. In addition, it contains excipients such as purified water and other components necessary for the formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
Keppra is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levetiracetam or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other antiepileptics.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney disease, as drug elimination may be affected. It is important to monitor for neuropsychiatric adverse effects, such as mood changes, depression, or suicidal thoughts. Renal function should be assessed before and during treatment, adjusting the dose if necessary.

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
