Indications
Keppra is indicated as adjunctive treatment in patients over 16 years of age with partial seizures and myoclonic seizures in the context of epilepsy. It is also indicated for the treatment of generalized tonic-clonic seizures in adults and adolescents. Its use is effective in patients who have not responded adequately to other antiepileptic therapies. Keppra administration may be considered as part of a broader therapeutic regimen, and its efficacy has been demonstrated in multiple clinical studies, where a significant reduction in seizure frequency has been observed. It is important that treatment be supervised by a neurologist or epileptologist to ensure proper management of therapy and monitoring for possible adverse effects.
Composition
Each Keppra tablet contains 1000 mg of Levetiracetam as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, and talc.
Contraindications
Keppra is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levetiracetam or any of the excipients in the formula. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of kidney disease, as dosage may require adjustments in such cases.
Precautions
Regular patient monitoring is recommended during treatment with Keppra. Patients with a history of depression or psychiatric disorders should be carefully evaluated, as an increased incidence of suicidal thoughts and behaviors has been reported in some cases. The possibility of central nervous system adverse reactions, such as somnolence and fatigue, should be considered.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
