Indications
Kelefusin is indicated for the treatment of electrolyte imbalances, specifically in cases of hypokalemia, which can be a consequence of various pathologies such as vomiting, diarrhea, or the use of diuretics. This medication helps restore normal potassium levels in the body, thereby contributing to proper muscle and nerve function. It is important that its use is supervised by a physician, who will determine the dosage and duration of treatment according to the specific needs of the patient.
Composition
Each 5 mL of Kelefusin contains 1.49 g of Potassium Chloride, as well as excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
Kelefusin is not recommended for use in patients with hyperkalemia, severe renal insufficiency, or with impaired renal function that prevents adequate potassium excretion. Likewise, it is contraindicated in those who present allergic reactions to any of the components of the formula.
Precautions
It should be used with caution in patients with heart disease, dehydration, or in those who are receiving treatments that may affect potassium levels. It is essential to monitor blood potassium levels during treatment. Furthermore, rapid administration or high doses that may cause adverse effects should be avoided.
