Indications
Karolus is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. This medication combines the analgesic action of paracetamol with the central analgesic action of tramadol, making it an effective option for the management of postoperative pain, oncological pain, and other types of chronic pain that do not respond adequately to conventional analgesics. Tramadol acts on opioid receptors in the central nervous system, while paracetamol acts primarily at the peripheral level. This combination allows for more complete and effective pain relief.
Composition
Each Karolus tablet contains: 325 mg of paracetamol and 37.5 mg of tramadol.
Contraindications
Karolus should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, in those with severe respiratory depression, acute intoxication by alcohol, hypnotics or opioid analgesics, as well as in patients with uncontrolled epilepsy. This medication is contraindicated in patients with severe liver disease and in those who are receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Karolus to patients with a history of seizures, respiratory disorders, or those who consume excessive alcohol. It is important to monitor patients at risk of medication abuse, as well as those with a history of opioid dependence. It is recommended to evaluate liver function before starting treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
