Indications

Karet is indicated for the treatment of hypothyroidism, as well as for the prophylaxis and treatment of goiter. It is used in the treatment of certain types of thyroid cancer and in conditions that require the suppression of thyroid tissue. In addition, it is used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases affecting the thyroid, such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

Levothyroxine sodium acts as a replacement or supplement for thyroid hormone in patients with a deficiency of this hormone. It is frequently prescribed to patients who have undergone thyroid surgery or who have been diagnosed with primary or secondary hypothyroidism.

Composition

Each Karet tablet contains 50 mcg of levothyroxine sodium as an active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Karet is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levothyroxine sodium or any component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in cases of untreated hyperthyroidism and in patients with acute myocardial infarction or untreated adrenal disease.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, or those undergoing anticoagulant treatment. It is important to monitor hormone levels and adjust the dose as needed. The dose should not be changed without consulting a doctor.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
