Indications
Kaopectate is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea. Its combination of Neomycin, Kaolin, and Pectin helps reduce the frequency and intensity of bowel movements, providing a soothing effect on the intestinal tract. Neomycin acts as an antibiotic that helps fight bacterial infections in the intestine, while Kaolin and Pectin help stabilize stools and absorb toxins, thus contributing to effective relief of symptoms associated with diarrhea. This medication can be used in adult patients and children over 6 years of age, always under medical supervision.
Composition
Each Kaopectate tablet contains: Neomycin 129 mg, Kaolin 280 mg, Pectin 30 mg.
Contraindications
Kaopectate is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of its components, in cases of diarrhea caused by severe bacterial infections, as well as in patients with renal failure or those with inflammatory bowel diseases.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with liver or kidney diseases. The recommended dose should not be exceeded, and a doctor should be consulted if symptoms persist for more than 48 hours. Prolonged use without proper medical supervision is not recommended.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
