Indications
Kabiven Central is a parenteral nutrition solution indicated for the treatment of patients who cannot receive adequate nutrition orally or enterally. It is used in specific clinical situations that require nutritional support, such as in patients with gastrointestinal conditions that prevent nutrient absorption, in cases of severe malnutrition, metabolic disorders, or during prolonged periods of critical illness. It is also recommended for patients in a hypermetabolic state, as occurs in situations of trauma, severe infections, or after major surgeries.
Composition
Kabiven Central contains a balanced mixture of amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids, electrolytes, and vitamins, which provide the essential nutrients needed for metabolic support. Each 100 mL of the solution includes:
- Amino acids: 6.25 g
- Glucose: 13.5 g
- Lipids: 2.5 g
- Electrolytes: in adequate proportions
- Vitamins: in sufficient quantities to meet daily requirements
Contraindications
It should not be administered to patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components, to those with severe disorders of liver or kidney function, and in cases of severe dehydration. It is also contraindicated in situations where adequate venous access cannot be guaranteed.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Kabiven Central to patients with diabetes mellitus, pulmonary, or cardiovascular diseases. It is essential to monitor electrolyte levels and liver and kidney function during treatment. It is recommended to adjust the dose according to the patient's clinical status and laboratory results.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.

- FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
