Indications

K-50 is indicated for the prevention and treatment of hemorrhages in patients with vitamin K deficiency. It is used in situations where the correction of coagulation disorders is required, such as in patients who have received anticoagulants, as well as in those with liver diseases that affect the synthesis of vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors. It is also used for hemorrhage prophylaxis in neonates, especially those with risk factors such as malnutrition or liver diseases.

Composition

Each K-50 ampoule contains 50 mg of Vitamin K (phytonadione) in 5 ml of injectable solution, in addition to excipients that allow its proper preservation and administration.

Contraindications

K-50 should not be administered to patients with known hypersensitivity to vitamin K or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It is contraindicated in patients with hypoprothrombinemia coagulopathies not caused by vitamin K deficiency, as well as in those undergoing treatment with oral anticoagulants without medical supervision.

Precautions

Caution is recommended when using K-50 in patients with a history of thrombosis or embolism. A proper clinical evaluation should be performed before administration, and coagulation levels should be monitored in patients receiving anticoagulants. It should not be used as the sole treatment in cases of severe hemorrhage, and should be supplemented with other therapeutic measures.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
