Indications
Jardianz Duo is indicated for the treatment of adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, as an adjunct to diet and exercise, to improve glycemic control. This medication is indicated for patients who have not achieved adequate blood glucose control with metformin alone or for those who are on metformin treatment and wish to add empagliflozin. Jardianz Duo can be used in combination with other oral hypoglycemic agents or insulin, depending on the clinical assessment of the treating physician.
Composition
Each Jardianz Duo tablet contains 5 mg of empagliflozin and 850 mg of metformin.
Contraindications
Jardianz Duo is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients; in those with severe renal insufficiency (eGFR < 30 ml/min); in cases of diabetic ketoacidosis; as well as in patients with unstable cardiovascular diseases or a history of acute pancreatitis.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with moderate renal insufficiency, liver disease, or in those who have an increased risk of dehydration. Regular monitoring of renal function and blood glucose is important. Caution is also recommended in patients with a history of urinary tract infection or who experience recurrent infections.

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
