Indications
Isorbid SL 5 mg is indicated for the treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris, as well as for the prevention of anginal episodes. This medication acts as a vasodilator, relieving the load on the heart and improving blood flow. It is also used in the care of congestive heart failure as part of a combined therapy. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions to determine the appropriate dosage and treatment regimen, as each patient may require a different approach based on their particular clinical condition.
Composition
Each Isorbid SL tablet contains: Isosorbide Dinitrate 5 mg, excipients: corn starch, talc, and others.
Contraindications
Isorbid SL is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to isosorbide dinitrate or any component of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe anemia, cardiogenic shock, or those who are using phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. Its use is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with hypotension, intracranial hypertension, or those with thyroid problems. It is essential that the patient informs their doctor about any other medications they are taking to avoid interactions. Alcohol consumption should be avoided, as it can potentiate the hypotensive effects of isosorbide dinitrate.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
