Indications

Isorbid is indicated for the treatment of stable angina pectoris and the management of congestive heart failure. This medication acts as a vasodilator, improving blood flow to the heart and relieving pressure in the vascular system. It is also used in the treatment of anginal attacks and as a prophylactic in patients with a history of angina. It is essential to follow medical instructions and adjust the dose according to the patient's response and the evolution of the disease.

Composition

Each Isorbid tablet contains 10 mg of isosorbide dinitrate as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.

Contraindications

Isorbid is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to isosorbide dinitrate or any other component of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of hypovolemic shock, severe anemia, intracranial hypertension, or in combination with phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (such as sildenafil). Its use during pregnancy and lactation must be evaluated by the treating physician.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of recent myocardial infarction, hypotension, or conditions that may exacerbate hypotension. It is important to monitor the blood pressure of patients under treatment, as well as their renal and liver function. Abrupt discontinuation of treatment can lead to a rebound in angina, so it should be avoided.

Storage

Store in a dry, cool place, at temperatures no higher than 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the medicine after the expiration date indicated on the package.
