Indications
Invionezo is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is especially effective in the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia, complicated skin and soft tissue infections, as well as vancomycin-resistant enterococcal infections. Linezolid works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, leading to cell death. Its use should be considered in patients with infections where other antibacterials are not suitable, or in those who have allergies to other treatments. It is important to perform a prior microbiological diagnosis and determine susceptibility to antibacterials before starting treatment.
Composition
Each ml of Invionezo contains 2 mg of linezolid. Excipients include: water for injection and other components that facilitate intravenous administration.
Contraindications
Invionezo is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to linezolid or any of the excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients who are receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in those who have received MAOIs in the last two weeks.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizures, as well as in those with renal or hepatic impairment. Patients should also be monitored for the possibility of developing hematological adverse reactions, such as anemia or thrombocytopenia. Hematological function monitoring is recommended during treatment, especially for prolonged treatments.
Storage
Invionezo should be stored at temperatures between 15 and 30 °C, protected from direct light and out of reach of children. Once opened, the solution should be used immediately or stored under appropriate conditions according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
