Indications
Inspra (Eplerenone) is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. Additionally, it is used in chronic heart failure, especially in patients who have suffered an acute myocardial infarction and have left ventricular dysfunction. Eplerenone acts as an aldosterone antagonist, which helps reduce fluid retention and blood pressure, thereby improving the quality of life of patients with these conditions.
Composition
Each tablet contains 50 mg of Eplerenone as an active ingredient. Excipients: lactose, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Inspra is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Eplerenone or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in patients with hyperkalemia (serum potassium greater than 5.0 mEq/L) and in those with severe renal impairment or end-stage renal disease.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with compromised renal function, as there may be an increase in potassium levels. Regular monitoring of blood potassium levels is recommended during treatment. In addition, concomitant use of medications that may affect potassium levels or renal function should be taken into account.
Storage
Store in its original packaging, at room temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
