Indications
Inspra (Eplerenone) is indicated in the treatment of chronic heart failure in patients who have been hospitalized for decompensation and have reduced ejection fraction. This medication is also used in essential hypertension, to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes, as well as in the prevention of mortality in those patients with myocardial infarction and reduced ejection fraction. Eplerenone acts as an aldosterone antagonist, thereby contributing to the decrease in sodium and water retention, as well as the reduction of left ventricular hypertrophy.
Composition
Each Inspra tablet contains 25 mg of Eplerenone as an active ingredient. In addition, it contains excipients that facilitate the formulation and stability of the medication.
Contraindications
Inspra is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Eplerenone or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment (Glomerular Filtration Rate < 30 ml/min) or in those with hyperkalemia (elevated potassium levels in the blood). It is also contraindicated in patients taking potent CYP3A4 inhibitors.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with compromised renal function, as well as in those with a history of hepatic dysfunction. It is advisable to monitor blood potassium levels before and during treatment. In case of hyperkalemia symptoms, treatment should be discontinued and an appropriate evaluation performed. Close monitoring is suggested in patients receiving other drugs that may raise potassium levels.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
