Indications

Inspra (Eplerenone) is indicated for the treatment of congestive heart failure in patients who have had an acute myocardial infarction, as well as for the management of essential hypertension. This medication acts as an aldosterone antagonist, which helps reduce fluid retention and blood pressure. Eplerenone is also used in the treatment of hypertension in adults, especially in those who have not responded adequately to other antihypertensives. Its use has been shown to improve cardiac function and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in selected patients.

Composition

Each Inspra tablet contains 25 mg of Eplerenone as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.

Contraindications

Inspra is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Eplerenone or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance < 30 ml/min) or in those with hyperkalemia (elevated potassium levels in the blood). Likewise, its use is contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women without adequate medical supervision.

Precautions

Regular monitoring of potassium levels is recommended in patients undergoing treatment with Inspra, especially in those at risk of developing hyperkalemia. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney disease, as well as in those receiving other medications that may affect potassium levels or kidney function. The concurrent use of other diuretics or antihypertensive medications should be reported.

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature (between 15 and 30 °C). Keep out of reach of children.
