Indications

Inhibitron (omeprazole) is indicated for the treatment of various conditions related to excessive stomach acid production. These include:

  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): treatment of erosive esophagitis and related symptoms, such as heartburn.
  • Gastric and duodenal ulcers: treatment of active gastric ulcers, as well as prevention of their recurrence in patients requiring long-term treatment.
  • Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: management of this condition characterized by excessive gastric acid production.
It is important to follow a doctor's instructions to determine the appropriate duration and dosage of treatment, as well as for monitoring therapeutic response.

Composition

Each Inhibitron capsule contains 20 mg of omeprazole as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for the drug's formulation.

Contraindications

Inhibitron should not be administered to patients with known hypersensitivity to omeprazole or any of the formulation's components. It is also contraindicated in cases of severe liver failure and in patients presenting undiagnosed gastrointestinal symptoms.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of liver disease, as well as in those receiving concomitant treatment with other drugs that may affect omeprazole metabolism. Furthermore, the need for an adequate diagnosis should be considered before initiating treatment to rule out more serious conditions.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
