Indications
Infanrix Hexa is indicated for active immunization of infants and young children from 6 weeks of age to prevent diseases caused by the following pathogens: - Diphtheria - Tetanus - Pertussis (whooping cough) - Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) - Poliovirus (IPV) - Infections by hepatitis B strains (HBV). The vaccination series should be started between 6 and 12 weeks of age, with a booster at 18 months and subsequently at 5 years of age.
Composition
Each 0.5 ml dose contains: - Inactivated components of the bacteria causing diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis. - Hib antigens. - Poliovirus type 1, 2, and 3 antigens. - Hepatitis B virus antigen. - Excipients: sodium chloride, disodium phosphate, monosodium phosphate, water for injection.
Contraindications
Infanrix Hexa is contraindicated in patients with a history of anaphylactic reaction to any of the vaccine components, as well as in those who have experienced encephalopathy of unknown origin within 7 days after a previous dose of a pertussis-containing vaccine.
Precautions
Clinical evaluation is recommended before administration in patients with a history of seizures, neurological diseases, or immunodeficiencies. Vaccination should be postponed in cases of high fever or moderate to severe acute illness.
Storage
Store refrigerated between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
