Indications
Incresina Duo is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. Its use is recommended in patients whose hyperglycemia is not adequately controlled with metformin alone, or in combination with other antidiabetic drugs. It is used as part of a treatment regimen that includes an adequate diet and physical exercise. The combination of Alogliptin and Metformin acts in different ways to control blood glucose levels, improving insulin sensitivity and reducing glucose production by the liver. This medication can be used as dual therapy or in combination with insulin.
Composition
Each tablet contains: 12.5 mg of Alogliptin and 500 mg of Metformin.
Contraindications
Incresina Duo is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, in those with severe kidney disease, decompensated heart failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, and in cases of lactic acidosis. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women without medical supervision.
Precautions
Precautions should be taken in patients with a history of kidney, liver, or heart disease. It is important to monitor kidney function before starting treatment and periodically during its use. Patients should be informed about the signs and symptoms of lactic acidosis and should be instructed to seek medical attention if they experience these symptoms. Additionally, the possibility of adjusting the dose should be considered in case of changes in kidney function or other factors that may affect the effectiveness of the treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
