Indications

Igamad is a medication indicated for the prophylaxis of hemolytic disease of the newborn due to Rh incompatibility. It is also used in patients with conditions that pose a risk of sensitization to Rh antigens, as well as in the management of clinical situations where it is necessary to prevent the formation of anti-Rh antibodies. Specific indications include:

  • Prophylaxis in Rh-negative pregnant women with Rh-positive fetuses.
  • Treatment in cases of maternal-fetal hemorrhage.
  • Prevention of hemolytic disease in neonates.
  • Therapy in blood transfusion situations where there is a risk of Rh sensitization.

Composition

Each Igamad syringe contains 300 mcg of human anti-D immunoglobulin, in a sterile, ready-to-use solution. Excipients are: sodium chloride, citric acid, and water for injection.

Contraindications

Igamad is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to human immunoglobulins or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to individuals with a history of thrombocytopathies or thrombosis associated with immunoglobulin administration.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of allergic reactions to blood products. Patients should be monitored during administration, especially with the first doses. Additionally, the risk of transmitting infectious agents should be considered, although rigorous donor selection and product processing methods have been followed.

Storage

Store in refrigeration between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children. Once opened, use immediately and do not store for more than 24 hours.
