Indications
Ifafonal (Diazepam) is indicated for the treatment of anxiety disorders, management of alcohol withdrawal syndrome, muscle relaxation, and as an adjunct in the treatment of seizures. Additionally, it is used in diagnostic and surgical procedures as a pre-operative sedative. Its anxiolytic action helps reduce emotional tension and provides a sedative effect that can be beneficial in situations of acute stress or anxiety.
Composition
Each Ifafonal tablet contains 10 mg of Diazepam as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that aid in the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Diazepam or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with sleep apnea, myasthenia gravis, severe respiratory insufficiency, and in those with a history of substance abuse. It is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, unless strictly necessary and under appropriate medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Ifafonal to elderly patients, those with a history of liver or kidney diseases, as well as patients taking other medications that may enhance its sedative effect. It is important to conduct a thorough evaluation before starting treatment and adjust the dose if necessary. Abrupt discontinuation of the medication is not recommended, as it may cause withdrawal syndrome.
