Indications
Hyzaar is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. Its use is justified in patients requiring adequate blood pressure control, as well as in those with hypertension and comorbidities such as type 2 diabetes mellitus. Furthermore, it can be used as a complementary treatment in patients who do not achieve optimal blood pressure control with monotherapy. The combination of losartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic, acts synergistically to achieve an effective reduction in blood pressure.
Composition
Each tablet contains: 50 mg of Losartan (as potassium) and 12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide.
Contraindications
Hyzaar is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of angioedema associated with treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor blockers. It is also contraindicated in pregnant or lactating women, as well as in those with severe renal insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of hypotension, renal artery stenosis, and in those with dehydration or hypovolemia. It is important to monitor renal function and electrolytes in patients starting treatment with Hyzaar. Care should also be taken in diabetic patients, as the use of diuretics can alter glucose control.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
