Indications

Hipokinon is indicated for the treatment of extrapyramidal symptoms associated with the use of antipsychotics, as well as for the treatment of Parkinsonism. This medication acts as a muscarinic receptor antagonist, which helps relieve rigidity, tremor, and bradykinesia. It is also used in the management of Tourette's syndrome and in cases of dystonia. Its use under medical supervision is recommended, given that the response may vary among patients and proper dose adjustment is required to optimize therapeutic results.

Composition

Each Hipokinon tablet contains 5 mg of trihexyphenidyl as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients such as lactose, starch, and talc, which facilitate product formulation.

Contraindications

Hipokinon is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to trihexyphenidyl or any of the excipients. Its use is not recommended in patients with angle-closure glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, or gastrointestinal disorders related to obstruction. Likewise, its use in patients with heart disease should be carefully evaluated by a physician.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Hipokinon to patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, or gallbladder problems. It is important to monitor for the appearance of side effects, such as dry mouth, blurred vision, or constipation, which may be indicative of anticholinergic effects. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medication.
