Indications
Haloperil (Haloperidol) is indicated for the treatment of psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia and other acute or chronic psychotic disorders. It is also used in the treatment of manic episodes in bipolar disorder and in conditions of severe agitation. In addition, haloperidol can be useful in controlling tic symptoms and in treating behavioral disorders in children. It is important that this medication be used under strict medical supervision, considering the nature and severity of the disorder to be treated.
Composition
Each Haloperil ampoule contains 5 mg of haloperidol per ml, in addition to the necessary excipients for its formulation.
Contraindications
Haloperil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to haloperidol or to any of the components of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in cases of central nervous system depression, coma, and in patients with Parkinson's disease. Its use should be avoided in patients with a history of tardive dyskinesia.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, renal or hepatic disorders, and in those who are receiving other medications that may affect the central nervous system. It is important to perform adequate follow-up to minimize adverse effects and adjust the dose as needed.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
