Indications
Haloperil is indicated for the treatment of psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia and other acute or chronic psychotic disorders. It is also used in the management of agitation and aggression symptoms in patients with psychiatric disorders. Additionally, Haloperil may be indicated for the treatment of severe nausea and vomiting, as well as in the management of tics and behavioral disorders in children. Its use must be evaluated and supervised by a mental health specialist, considering the patient's medical history and individual needs.
Composition
Each Haloperil tablet contains 5 mg of haloperidol as the active ingredient. Excipients include lactose, starch, talc, and other components that facilitate the formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
Haloperil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to haloperidol or to any of the excipients. It should not be used in cases of coma, central nervous system depression, Parkinson's disease, or in patients with a history of QT interval prolongation. Use should be carefully evaluated in patients with a history of seizures or cardiovascular diseases.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in individuals with liver, kidney, or cardiovascular diseases. Haloperil can cause adverse effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, or hypotension, so driving or operating heavy machinery should be avoided during treatment. It is important to monitor patients for possible side effects, especially during prolonged treatments.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
