Indications
Haldol Decanoas is indicated for the treatment of psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia and other acute and chronic psychotic disorders. It is also used in the management of severe agitation and for the control of hyperactivity and impulsivity symptoms in patients with behavioral disorders. In some cases, it may be indicated for the treatment of tics and Tourette's symptoms. Its use must be supervised by a physician, who will determine the dose and duration of treatment according to the specific needs of the patient.
Composition
Each ampoule of Haldol Decanoas contains 50 mg of Haloperidol. Excipients are sufficient to achieve the appropriate pharmaceutical form.
Contraindications
Haldol Decanoas is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to haloperidol or to any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with central nervous system diseases, including organic brain diseases or uncontrolled epilepsy. Furthermore, it is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency or in those presenting a coma.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Haldol Decanoas to patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or a history of seizures. Likewise, careful monitoring is recommended in elderly patients, as they may be more susceptible to the adverse effects of the medication. It is important to inform the physician about any medication the patient is taking, as well as about pre-existing medical conditions.
Storage
Haldol Decanoas should be stored at room temperature, in a dry place and protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
