Indications

Halcion (Triazolam) is indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia. This medication is useful for patients who have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, as well as for those who experience frequent awakenings during the night. Halcion acts as a sedative-hypnotic that helps reduce sleep latency and improves sleep duration, providing more restful sleep. It is important that the use of Halcion be limited to short periods, typically not exceeding two to four weeks, and under strict medical supervision.

Composition

Each Halcion tablet contains 0.250 mg of Triazolam, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Halcion is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Triazolam or to any of the components of the formula. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of substance abuse, as well as in those with severe respiratory conditions, such as sleep apnea. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation due to possible adverse effects on the fetus or infant.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Halcion to elderly patients, as well as in those with liver or kidney disease. Concomitant use of other central nervous system depressants may increase the risk of adverse effects.
