Indications

Glitacar-1 is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, in combination with diet and exercise, to improve glycemic control in adults. This medication can be used alone or in combination with other oral antidiabetics or insulin. Pioglitazone works by improving insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues and in the liver, which contributes to the reduction of blood glucose. It is important to note that the use of Glitacar-1 should be part of a comprehensive approach that includes lifestyle changes.

Composition

Each Glitacar-1 tablet contains 30 mg of pioglitazone as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients necessary for the tablet formulation.

Contraindications

Glitacar-1 is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pioglitazone or to any of the components of the formulation. It should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes or for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis. It is also contraindicated in patients with congestive heart failure or a history of heart failure, as it may increase the risk of fluid retention.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart disease, hepatic or renal impairment, as well as in those with risk factors for the development of heart failure. Regular monitoring of liver function and signs of edema is recommended. Pioglitazone may increase the risk of fractures in some patients, so their bone health should be evaluated.

Store the product in its original packaging, at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
