Indications
Glitacar-1 is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in patients who have not achieved adequate control with metformin alone, or when metformin is not suitable for the patient. It can also be used in combination with other oral antidiabetics or insulin. Pioglitazone works by increasing insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues, thereby promoting the reduction of blood glucose.
Composition
Each Glitacar-1 tablet contains 15 mg of pioglitazone and excipients necessary for the formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
Glitacar-1 is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to pioglitazone or any component of the product. It should not be used in patients with congestive heart failure or in those with a history of edema or heart failure. It is also contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes and in those with diabetic ketoacidosis.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart failure, liver diseases, or those at risk of fractures. It is important to regularly monitor liver function and glycemic control during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
