Indications
Gestil is indicated for the treatment of psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia and other mood disorders where psychotic symptoms are present. It is also used for the management of severe agitation and the treatment of acute manic episodes in patients with bipolar disorder. Its action is based on the modulation of neurotransmitters in the central nervous system, which helps stabilize the patient's emotional state and reduce the intensity of psychotic manifestations.
Composition
Each Gestil tablet contains 100 mg of Piperidolate, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medication. It is recommended to check the packaging for detailed information on the excipients used.
Contraindications
Gestil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Piperidolate or any component of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of severe central nervous system diseases, such as Parkinson's disease or severe depression. Likewise, its use is contraindicated in patients with a history of severe adverse reactions to other antipsychotics.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with cardiovascular diseases, hepatic or renal disorders. Constant monitoring for adverse effects is important, especially in elderly patients, who may be more susceptible to the sedative effects of the medication. Gestil should not be discontinued abruptly, as it may cause withdrawal symptoms.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, out of reach of children. Avoid exposure to direct light and humidity. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
