Indications
Gentilax is indicated for the treatment of occasional constipation. Its action is based on stimulating intestinal peristalsis, facilitating the passage of stools. It can be used as an aid in the preparation of diagnostic procedures that require adequate bowel cleansing. In addition, its use may be considered in patients who have difficulty evacuating, always under the supervision of a physician.
Composition
Each Gentilax tablet contains 60 mg of phenolphthalein as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Gentilax is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to phenolphthalein or any component of the formula. It should not be used in cases of intestinal obstruction, appendicitis, inflammatory bowel disease, or in patients with severe dehydration problems. Its use in pregnant and breastfeeding women should be evaluated and supervised by a physician.
Precautions
Caution is recommended when used in patients with a history of kidney or liver disease. The recommended dose should not be exceeded or used for prolonged periods, as it can lead to laxative dependence. It is important to follow up with a doctor in case of persistent or worsening symptoms.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
