Indications

Genotropin C is indicated for the treatment of growth hormone deficiency in children and adults. In children, it is used in cases of growth failure due to growth hormone deficiency, Turner syndrome, chronic renal insufficiency, and in patients with low birth weight who have not achieved adequate growth. In adults, it is prescribed for the treatment of growth hormone deficiency, which can result in decreased muscle mass, increased body fat, and decreased quality of life. Treatment with somatropin should be supervised by a physician experienced in endocrinology and internal medicine.

Composition

Each Genotropin C cartridge contains 5.3 mg of somatropin as the active ingredient. Additionally, it includes excipients such as mannitol, acetic acid, hydrochloric acid, and water for injection, which are necessary for the drug's formulation.

Contraindications

Genotropin C is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to somatropin or any of the product's excipients. It is also contraindicated in cases of active tumors or a history of malignant tumors, critical illness, or severe trauma. Its use is not recommended in patients with Prader-Willi syndrome who have severe obesity or sleep apnea.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with malignant diseases, diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, or kidney function problems. In addition, growth in children should be monitored during treatment, and blood glucose studies should be performed, as the use of somatropin can affect insulin sensitivity.

Storage

Genotropin C should be stored refrigerated between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Keep the medication in its original packaging and out of the reach of children.
