Indications
Gelafundin is indicated for the treatment of hypovolemia and hypovolemic shock. It is used as an intravascular volume expansion solution in situations of dehydration or hemorrhage. It is also useful in the rehydration of patients who require rapid restoration of blood volume. It is important that its use be supervised by a healthcare professional, who will determine the need and appropriate type of treatment for each patient.
Composition
Each 100 ml of Gelafundin contains: Gelatin 4 g, sodium chloride, water for injection, and other excipients.
Contraindications
Gelafundin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to gelatin or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of severe renal failure, pulmonary edema, or any condition involving fluid overload. Caution should be exercised in patients with heart disease or who are undergoing treatment with anticoagulants.
Precautions
Adequate monitoring of blood pressure and the patient's hemodynamic status is recommended during the administration of Gelafundin. In case of adverse reactions, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor. Special care should be taken in elderly patients or those with pre-existing medical conditions that may increase the risk of complications.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.
