Indications

Gardasil is indicated for the prevention of diseases caused by certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV), specifically types 6, 11, 16, and 18. It is recommended for administration in adolescents and young adults, generally between 9 and 26 years of age, as part of a vaccination program to prevent cervical cancer, as well as genital warts related to types 6 and 11. Vaccination is most effective when administered before the onset of sexual activity.

Composition

Each 0.5 mL dose of Gardasil contains:

  • Human Papillomavirus (HPV) proteins type 6, 11, 16, and 18.
  • Excipients: water for injection, aluminum salts as adjuvant, among others.

Contraindications

Gardasil is contraindicated in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to any component of the vaccine or to a previous dose of Gardasil. Its use should also be avoided in individuals with acute febrile illness or moderate to severe acute infections.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in individuals with bleeding disorders or those on anticoagulant therapy. Vaccine administration during pregnancy is not recommended unless the benefits outweigh the potential risks. Breastfeeding women may receive the vaccine, but a doctor should be consulted.

Storage

Gardasil should be stored refrigerated at temperatures between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children and protect from light.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
