Indications
Folivital 0.4 mg is indicated for the prevention and treatment of folic acid deficiencies, as well as in conditions requiring an additional intake of this nutrient. It is especially useful in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as folic acid is essential for the proper formation of the neural tube in the fetus. It is also recommended in cases of megaloblastic anemia due to folate deficiency and in patients with intestinal malabsorption.
Composition
Each Folivital tablet contains 0.4 mg of folic acid as an active ingredient. Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, among others.
Contraindications
Folivital is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to folic acid or any of the components of the formulation. Its use is not recommended in cases of megaloblastic anemia due to vitamin B12 deficiency, without adequate treatment for the latter, as it could mask this condition.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Folivital to patients with a history of cancer, as folic acid may stimulate the growth of certain tumors. It is important to perform adequate clinical monitoring and assess the need for supplementation in these cases. Likewise, the use of this medication in doses higher than recommended without the supervision of a healthcare professional should be avoided.

Store the product in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
