Indications

Fluoning is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including:

  • Lower respiratory tract infections, such as community-acquired pneumonia and acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.
  • Urinary tract infections, including pyelonephritis.
  • Skin and soft tissue infections, including cellulitis.
  • Complicated intra-abdominal infections.

Levofloxacin acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, resulting in the death of bacteria sensitive to the drug. It is important to perform a culture and antibiogram to determine the sensitivity of microorganisms before initiating treatment.

Composition

Each Fluoning tablet contains 750 mg of levofloxacin and excipients necessary for its formulation.

Contraindications

Fluoning is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levofloxacin, other fluoroquinolone antibiotics, or any of the formulation components. Likewise, its use is not recommended in patients with a history of tendinitis or tendon rupture related to fluoroquinolone use.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizure disorders, renal insufficiency, and those taking medications that may cause QT interval prolongation. It is advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and the use of products containing calcium, iron, or magnesium within hours of drug administration, as they may interfere with its absorption.

Store in its original container, at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
