Indications
Flumedil is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, as part of a blood glucose control regimen. This medication is used in patients who cannot maintain adequate glucose levels with diet and physical exercise alone. Flumedil works by stimulating insulin secretion by the pancreas and improving tissue response to insulin. Its use is recommended in combination with other oral antidiabetic medications or insulin, according to the patient's medical evaluation.
Composition
Each Flumedil tablet contains 10 mg of Glipizide as the active ingredient. Other excipients may include: starch, talc, and other compounds that facilitate the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Flumedil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to glipizide or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, and in patients with severe renal or hepatic insufficiency. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
It is important to monitor renal and hepatic function in patients using Flumedil, as they may have an increased risk of hypoglycemia. Caution should be exercised when using it in patients with a history of heart disease, as well as in those who are undergoing treatment with other medications that may affect blood glucose levels. Regular monitoring of glucose and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is recommended.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
