Indications
Flagenase V is indicated for the treatment of vaginal infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to metronidazole. It is effective in the treatment of bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis. Its use is recommended for women who present symptoms such as abnormal vaginal discharge, itching, or foul odor. In case of symptom presentation, a medical evaluation should be performed to confirm the diagnosis and the need for treatment. Metronidazole acts by inhibiting the growth of bacteria and protozoa, favoring the restoration of normal vaginal flora.
Composition
Each ovule contains 500 mg of metronidazole as the active ingredient. Excipients: gelatin, glycerin, among others.
Contraindications
Flagenase V is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to metronidazole or to any of the components of the formulation. Its use is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy, except in cases where the benefit justifies the potential risk. It is also contraindicated in patients with neurological diseases and in those who consume alcohol, due to the possibility of serious adverse reactions.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of central nervous system disorders. Concomitant use of Flagenase V with alcohol and medications containing disulfiram should be avoided. Medical follow-up is suggested in case of adverse reactions. Use during lactation is not recommended without adequate medical supervision.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
