Indications

Festeride is indicated for the treatment of prostate cancer in male patients. It is used as complementary therapy in the treatment of localized prostate cancer that has undergone prostatectomy or radiotherapy. It may also be indicated in cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) to help reduce associated symptoms, as well as for the prevention of disease progression. Bicalutamide acts as an androgen receptor antagonist, blocking the action of testosterone in prostate cells.

Composition

Each Festeride tablet contains 50 mg of bicalutamide as an active ingredient, as well as excipients that allow for the proper formulation of the medicine.

Contraindications

This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to bicalutamide or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with severe hepatic insufficiency. Its use in women and children is not indicated due to the lack of clinical studies supporting its safety and efficacy in these populations.

Precautions

Regular medical monitoring is important in patients receiving Festeride treatment, especially those with a history of liver disease, heart problems, or hematological abnormalities. Liver function should be evaluated before and during treatment. Concomitant use with other antiandrogenic agents should be avoided.

Storage

Festeride should be stored at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
