Indications
Facidex Total is indicated for the treatment of conditions related to gastric acid hypersecretion, including gastric and duodenal ulcers. This medication is useful in the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), providing relief from associated symptoms such as heartburn and regurgitation. Additionally, it is used for the prevention of gastric ulcers associated with the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The combination of its components allows for a synergistic action that helps neutralize acidity and reduce acid production in the stomach.
Composition
Each tablet of Facidex Total contains: 20 mg of Famotidine, 165 mg of Magnesium Hydroxide, and 800 mg of Calcium Carbonate.
Contraindications
Facidex Total is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to individuals with a history of severe allergic reactions to famotidine or other H2 antihistamines. Likewise, caution should be exercised in patients with severe renal insufficiency.
Precautions
It is recommended to use Facidex Total with caution in patients with kidney or liver disease, as well as in those who are taking other medications that may interact with its components. It is important to perform adequate medical follow-up if persistent or new gastrointestinal symptoms appear, to rule out more serious conditions.
