Indications
Exforge HCT is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adult patients. This medication combines three active ingredients: amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker; valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker; and hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic. This combination allows for better blood pressure control by acting on different physiological mechanisms in the body. Exforge HCT can be used in patients who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy or in those who require a more aggressive therapeutic approach.
Composition
Each Exforge HCT tablet contains:
- Amlodipine: 5 mg
- Valsartan: 160 mg
- Hydrochlorothiazide: 12.5 mg
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of its components, as well as in those with a history of angioedema associated with previous treatments with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) or angiotensin II receptor blockers. Furthermore, it should not be administered to patients with severe renal failure or those with uncorrected hypokalemia.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of heart failure, liver disease, or those who are on concomitant treatment with other antihypertensives. It is advisable to regularly monitor blood pressure and electrolytes during treatment. Patients should be informed about the possibility of experiencing dizziness at the beginning of treatment.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
