Indications

Exforge is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension in adults. Its use is suitable for patients who have not achieved adequate blood pressure control with a single antihypertensive. This medication combines two active ingredients: amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, and valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, which act synergistically to reduce and improve blood pressure control. Exforge can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensives.

Composition

Each Exforge tablet contains:

• Amlodipine 5 mg
• Valsartan 160 mg

Contraindications

Exforge is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to amlodipine, valsartan, or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with a history of angioedema associated with previous treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) or angiotensin receptor antagonists. Its use is also contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment, pregnancy, and lactation.

Precautions

Caution is recommended when using Exforge in patients with aortic stenosis, cardiogenic shock, renal or hepatic impairment, and in those taking other antihypertensives. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and renal function is important during treatment. Patients should be informed about the possibility of experiencing dizziness or drowsiness at the beginning of treatment.

Storage

Exforge should be stored in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
