Indications

Excedrin is indicated for the relief of moderate to severe pain, including tension headaches, migraines, dental pain, menstrual pain, and muscle aches. Additionally, it is used for fever treatment. The combination of acetylsalicylic acid and paracetamol provides an analgesic and antipyretic effect, while caffeine enhances the analgesic action, helping to improve treatment efficacy. This medication is designed for use in adults and children over 12 years of age, always under a doctor's supervision.

Composition

Each tablet contains: 250 mg of acetylsalicylic acid, 250 mg of paracetamol, and 65 mg of caffeine.

Contraindications

Excedrin is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergy to any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with active peptic ulcers, bleeding disorders, severe liver failure, or in cases of hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid. It is also contraindicated in pregnant women, especially in the third trimester, and during lactation, unless indicated by a doctor.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with asthma, allergic rhinitis, or a history of gastritis. It is important not to exceed the recommended dose and not to use the medication for prolonged periods without medical supervision. It is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption during treatment, as it may increase the risk of bleeding.
