Indications
Evra is a hormonal contraceptive indicated for pregnancy prevention. This transdermal patch continuously releases two hormones, ethinylestradiol and norelgestromin, which act synergistically to inhibit ovulation, alter cervical mucus, and modify the endometrium, thereby contributing to the effectiveness of the contraceptive method. Its use is recommended for women seeking an effective and convenient contraceptive option, especially those who prefer not to use oral methods. Additionally, it can be considered in the management of menstrual disorders, such as premenstrual syndrome, although its primary use is as a contraceptive. Its effectiveness is maintained as long as the recommended application schedule is followed, which includes weekly patch changes and a patch-free interval.
Composition
Each Evra patch contains 600 mcg of norelgestromin and 0.075 mg of ethinylestradiol. The patch excipients allow for controlled release of the hormones through the skin, ensuring adequate and sustained absorption.
Contraindications
Evra is contraindicated in women with a history of venous or arterial thrombosis, cardiovascular disease, breast cancer or hormone-dependent organ cancers, coagulation disorders, and in those with undiagnosed vaginal bleeding. It is also contraindicated in women who are hypersensitive to any of the patch components.
Precautions
Precautions should be taken when using Evra in women over 35 years old who smoke, in patients with hypertension, diabetes mellitus, migraine with aura, and in those with elevated body weight, as these may increase the risk of thromboembolic events. A medical check-up is recommended before starting treatment and during its use.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
