Indications
Evista (Raloxifene) is indicated for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. Raloxifene has been shown to reduce the risk of vertebral fractures and improve bone mineral density. In addition, this medication is also indicated for the reduction of the risk of invasive breast cancer in postmenopausal women with osteopenia or at high risk of developing breast cancer.
Composition
Each Evista tablet contains 60 mg of Raloxifene (as Raloxifene hydrochloride) as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that allow for the proper formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Evista is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Raloxifene or to any of the excipients. It should not be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women. In addition, it is contraindicated in patients with a history of venous thromboembolism, as the use of Raloxifene may increase the risk of thromboembolic events.
Precautions
Precautions should be taken in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease or who have risk factors for thromboembolism. It is important to adequately monitor bone and cardiovascular health during treatment with Evista. The use of this medication is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency.
Storage
Evista should be stored at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
