Indications
Everest (Montelukast) is indicated for the treatment and prevention of asthma symptoms in patients 12 months of age and older. It is also useful in the prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction. This medication is effective in the treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, helping to relieve symptoms such as sneezing, nasal and ocular itching, nasal congestion, and runny nose. Its mechanism of action is based on the inhibition of leukotrienes, which are inflammatory mediators that contribute to the asthmatic response and the development of allergic rhinitis.
Composition
Each Everest tablet contains 10 mg of Montelukast as the active ingredient. Excipients are: microcrystalline cellulose, starch, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, and other inactive excipients.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Montelukast or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver diseases.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with liver diseases, as well as those with a history of neuropsychiatric disorders. It is recommended to monitor patients who exhibit symptoms of behavioral or mood changes. It should not be used as emergency treatment during an asthma attack.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
