Indications
Eutirox is indicated for the treatment of hypothyroidism, a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough hormones. It is used in hormone replacement therapy in patients with thyroidectomy (removal of the thyroid gland) and in the treatment of goiters (enlargement of the thyroid gland) and in the treatment of certain types of thyroid cancer. It is also prescribed in cases of thyroid hormone resistance syndrome. The administration of Levothyroxine Sodium helps normalize hormone levels and regulate the body's metabolism, thus improving the quality of life for patients suffering from these conditions.
Composition
Each Eutirox tablet contains 50 mcg of Levothyroxine Sodium, in addition to excipients such as lactose, starch, and other components that facilitate its formulation and absorption.
Contraindications
Eutirox is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Levothyroxine Sodium or any other component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in cases of acute myocardial infarction, untreated thyroiditis, and in patients with untreated adrenal disease. Caution should be exercised in its use in patients with cardiovascular diseases or coagulation disorders.
Precautions
Before starting treatment with Eutirox, a complete medical evaluation should be performed. It is important to adjust the dose in elderly patients and in those with heart disease. Monitoring of thyroid function is essential to avoid adverse effects and ensure the efficacy of the treatment. The use of Eutirox during pregnancy is not recommended without proper supervision by a specialist.
