Indications

Eutirox (Levothyroxine Sodium) is indicated in the treatment of hypothyroidism, which can be primary, secondary, or tertiary. This medication is also used in the prophylaxis and treatment of goiter, as well as in the treatment of certain types of thyroid cancer. It is essential for the regulation of energy metabolism and protein synthesis. In cases of hypothyroidism, it helps restore normal levels of thyroid hormones in the body, thereby improving metabolic function and reducing symptoms associated with hormone deficiency.

Composition

Each Eutirox tablet contains 25 mcg of Levothyroxine Sodium as the active ingredient. Excipients include lactose, starch, and other inactive components that facilitate the formulation and stability of the medication.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Levothyroxine Sodium or to any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in cases of acute myocardial infarction, untreated thyrotoxicosis, and untreated adrenal disease. It is essential that patients inform their doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions before starting treatment.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when using Eutirox in patients with cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, or adrenal dysfunction. Regular monitoring of thyroid hormone levels and dose adjustments as needed are recommended. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before starting treatment, as Levothyroxine can affect fetal or infant development.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
