Indications
Eutirox is indicated for the treatment of hypothyroidism, a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormones. It is also used in hormone replacement therapy in patients who have undergone total or partial thyroidectomy. Additionally, Eutirox is prescribed in the treatment of certain forms of goiter (enlargement of the thyroid gland) and in the suppression of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) production in patients with thyroid carcinoma. It is essential that the use of this medication be supervised by a physician, who will evaluate the appropriate dose and duration of treatment based on the patient's individual needs.
Composition
Each Eutirox tablet contains 175 mcg of Levothyroxine Sodium as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that allow for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
Eutirox is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Levothyroxine Sodium or any of the excipients of the medication. Its use is not recommended in untreated hyperthyroidism, acute myocardial infarction, and in patients with uncorrected adrenal insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Eutirox in patients with cardiovascular diseases, kidney or liver failure, as well as in those with a history of thyroid diseases. Regular monitoring of hormone levels and dose adjustment as needed is important. Interaction with other medications that may affect the absorption or metabolism of Levothyroxine should also be considered.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and protect from light.
