Indications
Eutirox is indicated for the treatment of various conditions related to thyroid hormone deficiency. It is used in the management of primary and secondary hypothyroidism, as well as in the treatment of goiters (enlargement of the thyroid gland) of diffuse or nodular origin. It is also used in the treatment of certain types of thyroid cancer, as well as in the suppression of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) production in patients with hyperthyroidism. Levothyroxine, its active ingredient, is a synthetic form of thyroid hormone that helps regulate metabolism, growth, and development of the body.
Composition
Each Eutirox tablet contains 150 mcg of levothyroxine sodium as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains inactive excipients that allow for the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Eutirox is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to levothyroxine sodium or any of the excipients, as well as in those with untreated adrenal disease, acute myocardial infarction, and in conditions of uncontrolled hyperthyroidism. It should be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular diseases or psychiatric disorders.
Precautions
Care should be taken when administering Eutirox to patients with a history of heart disease, as it may increase heart rate and oxygen consumption. It is important to adjust the dose in elderly patients and in those with chronic diseases. Monitoring thyroid hormone levels and cardiac function is recommended during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
