Indications
Eutebrol is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. Memantine, its active ingredient, acts by modulating the activity of glutamate, a neurotransmitter involved in learning and memory. This medication helps improve cognitive function and can slow the decline of mental abilities in patients with this condition. Eutebrol may also be used in other neurocognitive disorders as determined by the treating physician.
Composition
Each tablet contains:
- Memantine (as hydrochloride) 20 mg
- Excipients: lactose, starch, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 30 mL/min) and in those receiving treatment with amantadine.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of seizures, as Eutebrol may increase the risk of seizures in these individuals. It is important to monitor renal function and adjust the dose in patients with moderate renal impairment. Careful evaluation is recommended before starting treatment in patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the package.
